Audrey DeTar

Audrey G. DeTar, age 68, of Amery, WI died suddenly at her home early Sunday morning, January 22, 2012.

Audrey Grace was born on June 18, 1943 in Deer Park, WI, the daughter of Raymond and Pearl (Ness) Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Deer Park United Methodist Church, grew up in Deer Park, and graduated from New Richmond HIgh School in 1961. On October 20, 1962, Audrey was married to Larry R. DeTar at the Methodist Church in Deer Park. Together they made their home in Deer Park and raised two childrenk, Paul and Diana. Over the years Audrey worked as an administrative assistant for various employers including the Clear Lake Star Newspaper, Alden-Black Brook Insurance Agency of Amery, Covenant Church in Clear Lake where she was an active member. In her spare time Audrey enjoyed reading, traveling, and attending gospel concerts. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Audrey had been battling lung cancer for the past three years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Pearl Anderson and her brother, Charles Anderson.

She is survived by Husband Larry DeTar of Amery, WI; Son and Daughter, Paul (Kaye) DeTar of Wheeler, WI and Diana (Craig) Johnson of Grand Haven, MI; grandchildren: Alayna Johnson, Nathan Johnson, Garrett Johnson and Logan Johnson, Tasha Kline, Jennifer Smith, and James Panter, 6 Great Grandchildren, Brother and Sister-In-Law: Raymond P. (Myrna) Anderson of New Richmond, WI, and Phyllis Anderson of Star Prairie, WI; nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral Service was held at the United Covenant Church of Clear Lake, WI on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating was Pastor Daniel M. Pearson. Music by Margaret Peterson. Casketbearers were: Tom Francis, Marlyn Bottolfson, Jim Hagerud, Earl Lee, John Olson and Lowell Frank.

Interment was at the Swedish Congregational Cemetery of Clear Lake, WI.

Scheuermann-Hammer Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
