Daniel Boe

Services for Daniel Boe, 78, were Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Congregational UCC, Amery, with the Rev. Barry Shaefer officiating. Organist was Julie Selle.

Casketbearers were Alan Webb, John Vranak, Don Birdsell, Chris Waszko, Ray Sislo and Tim DeLawyer.

Honorary bearers were his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Interment was in the Amery cemetery with Williamson Funeral Home of Amery assisting the family.

Daniel Boe was born April 11, 1924, in Elmwood to Alfred and Nellie (Webb) Boe. He grew up in Deer Park and was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist church, Deer Park.

He attended grade school at the North View school and graduated from the Amery high school. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy until 1946. When he came back home, he married Alice Miller and five children were born.

The couple moved to Montana where he worked for a short time with his uncle. They then moved back to Wisconsin where he took a job with a can milk truck route in the Luck area.

In 1949 the family made their home in Deer Park where he farmed until 1961.

He was married to Glade Whipp on March 26, 1962, in Decorah, Iowa. She was the mother of a son and together they had another daughter.

After his marriage, he worked different jobs in sales, his favorite being selling Harvestore structures. He worked for Brave Harvestore in Menomonie for over 20 years, retiring to Amery.

He was a proud member of the Wisconsin Bear Hunters association.

He died Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Amery Regional Medical Center.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Alfred and Nellie; step-father, Art Olson; wife, Glade; and son, Bruce.

He is survived by his sons, Ronald (Renee), John, and Tom (Rita); daughters, Bonnie (David) Berner and Cindy (Warren) Prellwitz; step-son Steve (Lin) Schultz; 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brother, Benjamin Boe; sisters, Betty (Spence) Larson, Daisy (Don) Hilbert and Fay (Dale) Junkans.
