KATHERINE M. CHOVAN

Katherine M. Chovan, 89, Amery, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at the Golden Age Manor, Amery.

Services were held at 2 pm Thursday, Nov. 13, at St. Paul's Lutheran church, Deer Park, with the Rev. Paul Wiegert officiating. Burial was in Tiffany Cemetery, Boyceville.

Katherine Chovan was born March 18, 1914, in Barron, to Frank and Mamie (Pickard) Butler. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran.

She worked at Sanidairy's in Menomonie and Friday Canning in New Richmond.

She married John Chovan on September 5, 1932, in Stillwater.

She was a member of St. Paul's Ladies Aid and taught Sunday school.

She was preceded in death by her parent; husband, John; sons, Leon and Richard; daughters, Helen Ford and infant, Donna.

She is survived by three children, Kathleen (Kevin) Krarup of Amery, Don Chovan of Deer Park and Linette Kozak of Amery; 22 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; step-sister and brothers, Harriet (Owen) Good of Ogilvie, Minn., Leroy (Judy) Butler of St. Paul, Frank (Judy) Butler of Ogilvie, Minn., and Lilian (Don) Martin of Eau Claire.
