ALEX D. FISCHER
March 17, 1913 - October 20, 1990

Alex D. Fischer, 77, Spring Prairie Township, died October 20, 1990, at Lakeland Medical Center, Elkhorn, after suffering an apparent heart attack at home. (He had been recovering from treatment for stomach and liver cancer.)

He was born March 17, 1913, to Soloman and Regina (Miller) Fischer in Chicago, where he grew up and attended school.

He served in World War II in the U.S. Army in the Philippines.

He married Loretta Hayman on August 23, 1947, in Elmhurst, Ill., and they made their home there.

He worked for Glidden Co. in Chicago, before moving between Amery and Deer Park, Wis., in 1953, where together, the couple owned and operated a dairy farm. They moved to their present address in 1977. For the past 12 years, he worked for the Camp Edwards YMCA in East Troy.

He is survived by his wife; two sisters, Catherine Baehr, Lombard, Ill., and Helen (Clarence) Runge; a brother, Adam (Lydia) Fischer, East Troy; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were October 23, 1990 at the Andrews Funeral Home, East Troy, with the Rev. Clark Davis officiating. Interment was in German Settlement Cemetery.

Memorials to the East Troy Lions Public Library or to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
