Lester Allen Frank Sr. was born June 7, 1905 in Forest (St. Croix County) to William and Luella Frank. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. June 20, 1928 he married Delhia M. Bethke and five children were born. He farmed in the Clear Lake area until 1961 when he moved to Amery and worked on the city crew for several years. He was an active outdoorsman and loved gardening. Lester died Wednesday, February 15, 1984 at the Apple River Valley Memorial Hospital at the age of 78.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Ronald, Elmer, Nathanial, William and Ralph. Left to mourn are his wife Delhia, sons Allen of Clayton, Lester Jr. of Clear Lake; daughters Mrs. Marilyn (Layne) Norling of Minneapolis, Mrs. Rosie (Dean) Soderberg of Clear Lake, Carol Peche of St. Paul, brother Orville Frank of Deer Park and sister Alice Ailts of Deer Park. He also leaves 22 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
The funeral was Friday, February 17, 1984 from the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Forest with Rev. Kent Raddatz officiating. Casketbearers were Robert, Richard, Ryan, and Larry Frank, James Soderberg, Frank and Bill Norling and Rudy Peche. Spring interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Deer Park with the Williamson Funeral Home of Amery in charge of arrangements.
