Funeral services for Gustav A. Friedrich, who died early Wednesday, July 16 at his home on route 2, Deer Park were held at two o'clock on Saturday, July 19 in St. Paul's Lutheran church, Deer Park, Rev. O. W. C. Boettcher officiating. Brief services were held earlier at the home for relatives and friends. Rev. Boettcher took as his text Psalm 90, verse 12. Mrs. Willard Swanson was organist. Eleanore Friedrich, a granddaughter of Mr. Friedrich, sang "Rock of Ages", and Layton Thornby, who was accompanied by Mrs. Robert L. Arnquist, sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "Behold The Heavenly Hosts". Interment was in Calvary cemetery, Deer Park, with L. H. and John W. Beebe in charge of arrrangements.

He was employed at Lakeside Canning company in an active capacity, having worked until the day before his death, Wednesday, July 16, at the age of 75 years and 5 days. He is survived by two daughters, Hazel (Mrs. Carl Thompson), Edna, and a son, Arnold; six grandchildren, one great grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Emilie Neitge of St. Paul, Minn. Two brothers, Frank and Anton, preceded him in death.

Pallbearers were all nephews of Mr. Friedrich, Walter Friedrich, Irvin Friedrich, Ben Friedrich, William Neitge, William Olson jr. and Donald Olson.

Gustav Adoph Friedrich was born July 11, 1877 at Lake Elmo, Washington county, Minnesota, the son of Christian and Augusta Zappa Friedrich. He was baptized August 26, 1877 in St. Luke's Evangelical church at Horseshoe Lake, near Lake Elmo, and was confirmed March 22, 1891. Some fifty years ago he came to the township of Cylon and to the farm which has since been the family home. On November 18, 1903 he was married to Ida Olson at East Immanuel Lutheran church. Three children were born to them: Hazel (Mrs. Carl Thompson), Arnold, on the home farm, and Edna, Wayzata, Minn. His wife preceded him in death on May 3, 1932. In June of 1919 he became a voting member of St. Paul's Lutheran church of Deer Park. He served his congregation for a number of years as it's chairman, on various committees, and several times as delegate to the district convention. Fred Richert and Emma Radinzel, Emil Nifpaldt, all of Lake Elmo; Mr. and Mrs. William Neitge, Miss Eleanore Neitge, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Olson and Bruce, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Friedrich, Mr. and Mrs. William Altman and George, St. Paul; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kohlrusch, Mickey and Penny, Maple Plain, Minn.; Mrs. Joe Snyder, Hettinger, N.
