LEONA E. GRANT
April 26, 1917 - December 21, 2007

Memorial services for Leona E. Grant, 90, were Saturday, December 29, at 11:00 a.m. at East Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Amery, with the Revs. Loren and Linda Schumacher officiating.

Jane Johnson served as organist.

Interment of cremains will be in the church cemetery. Williamson-White Funeral Home, Amery, assisted with arrangements.

Leona Edna Grant was born April 26, 1917, in Reeve, the daughter of Frank and Lillian (Prosser) Zorn. She grew up in the Clear Lake area and graduated from high school.

On November 6, 1940, she was married to Walter Parker Grant and four children were born. After their marriage they lived in Clayton and Hastings, Minn., before moving to Deer Park in 1950.

She worked at the Deer Park Feed Mill and Lumber Yard which they owned. She later worked at the kitchen for Amery schools and also in the kitchen at Maple Manor in New Richmond.

She was a member of the Deer Park Homemakers and the East Immanuel Lutheran Church.

After the death of her husband, she moved to Oakbrook Apartments in Amery. She has been a resident of Willow Ridge for the past two years.

She died at Amery Regional Medical Center on Friday, December 21, 2007.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter; brothers, John, Raymond and Charles; sisters, Johanna, Hazel, Amelia, Helen and Florine.

Survivors include her sons, Lowell (Marjorie) Grant and Keith (Chris) Grant; daughters, Diane (Jerry) Struemke and Cheryl Johnson; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
