Erwin A. Jahn

Erwin A. Jahn was born April 26, 1910 in the town of Glenwood, the son of Reinhart and Hanna (Jeske) Jahn.

He was united in marriage to Anna Schreiber April 3, 1934 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Forest. He had been a resident of the Glenwood City area since 1938 and worked for Glenwood City Auto Co., Horgan Chevrolet, Keyes Chevrolet, and Glenwood City Co-op as a mechanic. He had been employed at the Glenwood City Machine Shop since 1965. He was a member of the Glenwood City Fire Dept. for 40 years and a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

Mr. Jahn died March 8, 1983 at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN having reached the age of 72 years, 10 months, and 12 days.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his wife Anna; 1 son, Gary and wife, Linda of Phoenix, Arizona; 2 brothers, Oscar, Boyceville, Walter, Phoeniz, Arizona; 2 sisters, Mrs. Dorothy (Ernest) Schreiber and Mrs. Helen Spaeth, both of Glenwood City; 3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 11, 1983 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Reverend Ralph Thompson officiating. Spring interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Deer Park. The organist was Mrs. Harry Knoebel and the vocalists were Mrs. Noel Wold and William Wold. The pallbearers were: Orville Graese, Michael Graese, David Graese, James Jeske, John Rassbach, Carlton DeWitt.
