Raymond A. Krueger
January 5, 1917 - November 7, 2001

Raymond A. Krueger, 84, formerly of Deer Park, died on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001 at the Holy Family Hospital in New Richmond. He was born in Cylon Township on Jan. 5, 1917 to Arthur and Gertrude (Zwieg) Krueger.

Ray married Irene Bethke on April 26, 1941 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Deer Park, and they celebrated their 60th anniversary this past April. During the World War II, Ray served in the Army and was at the Battle of the Bulge.

Ray worked as an electrician for most of his life and enjoyed gardening, fishing and deer hunting. He was a life-long member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Deer Park and an active member of Deer Park American Legion Post No. 213 for 45 years.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Krueger of New Richmond; son Chuck (Chris) Krueger of Hatley, Wis.; daughter Ilene (Harland) Zielsdorf of Deer Park, five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald (Bernice) Krueger of Deer Park, Richard (Doris) Krueger of New Richmond; and sister Alice Koeppen of Amery.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov. 10 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Deer Park with Rev. Timothy Coppersmith officiating. Organist was Cindy Nelson and soloist was David Swanson.

Casketbearers were James Krueger, Steve Bethke, Kevin Krueger, Robert Krueger, Duane Krueger, and Tom Krueger. Military honors were provided by the Spooner Detachment of the Military Honors Program. Interment was in the Calvary Cemetery in Deer Park.
