Marilyn Larson

Marilyn Luella Larson, age 78 of New Richmond, died on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at the St. Croix Health Center.

Marilyn was born the daughter of John and Luella (Matthews) Olson on June 21, 1930 in New Richmond. She graduated from New Richmond High School with the class of 1948. On July 8, 1950, Marilyn was married to Norman Larson. Their marriage was blessed with four children.

Marilyn worked as a secretary at Doughboy, Fabri-Tek in Amery, at the New Richmond News as a proof reader, and wrote a column for the News called "On the 60 Something Side".

She was an avid Packer fan, and loved to attend Badger games with her daughter Linda. Marilyn was a member of the New Richmond United Methodist Church. She had a green thumb and grew beautiful flower gardens, enjoyed several trips to Branson, and was a voracious reader.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Luella Olson; husband, Norman Larson; daughter, Linda Larson; infant son, Bruce Larson; and sister, Norma Arduini.

Marilyn is survived by her children, David Larson and wife, Jeanne of Hammond, Sandy Green and husband Ron of Somerset, and Steve Larson of New Richmond; grandchildren, Jon Green, Joe Green and wife, Lindsay, Dan Larson and wife, Leslie, Mike Larson, Brian Larson, Sara Larson, Sharon Larson, Kathryn Larson, and Jenna Green; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Green, Ireland Green, and Allie Larson; brother Al Olson and wife, LaVina of New Brighton, Minn.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service was held on Monday, September 15, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in New Richmond. Visitation was held on Sunday, September 14, 2008 from 3-6 p.m. at Beebe Mortuary and also from 10-11 a.m. before the funeral service at church. Interment was in the Cylon Cemetery. Pallbearers are Marilyn's grandchildren.
