Marie Meyer

Mrs. Herman Meyer of Deer Park died Friday, Nov. 22 (1957) in the Apple River Valley Memorial hospital, Amery, after a very brief illness. She was 77 years of age.

A daughter of Henry and Margaret Mathews Luehmann, Marie Luehmann was born June 28, 1880 at Lewiston, Minn. she was married Dec. 13, 1900 at Springfield, Minn., to Herman Meyer. Surviving, with Mr. Meyer, are a son, Donald, Star Prairie; and four daughters, Edna (Mrs. Martin Ohrt), Hudson; Adella (Mrs. Arnold Richert), New Richmond; Gertrude (Mrs. Walter Gust) and Lorraine (Mrs. Clarence Gust) both of Deer Park. A son, Lester, preceded Mrs. Meyer in death. Fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive her, as do three brothers, John Luehman, Mankato, Minn., and Arthur & Werner Luehman, both of Star Prairie; and two sisters, Mrs. Edd Meyer and Mrs. Wm Schmidt, also of Star Prairie.

Visitation was at the Beebe Chapel, and funeral services for Mrs. Meyer were held Monday, Nov. 25 in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church, Deer Park, the Rev. J. K. Newton officiating. Soloist was Norman Tepfer, accompanied by Mrs. J. K. Newton. Interment was in Calvary cemetery at Deer Park, and six grandsons served as pallbearers: Vern Ohrt, David Ohrt, James Richert, Charles Richert, Robert Gust and William Gust.
