Wayne D. Mork, age 73, of Montello, Wis., passed away peacefully on Monday, August 2, 2010, at Divine Savior Hospital, Portage, Wis.
He was born on July 25, 1937, in Nye, Wis., son of the late Donald and Elvina (Olson) Mork. Wayne married Darlene Briese on April 16, 1986. He operated his own dairy farm in New Richmond, where in 1971 he was awarded Outstanding Farmer of the Year. Wayne worked for Brakebush Transportation for over 29 years where he received the Over 2,000,000 Safe Miles Award.
He was an active member of The People's Church and Montello Lions Club. Wayne enjoyed antique car shows and was a passionate gardener. Wayne never met a stranger.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene; seven children, Suzanne (Al) Baukol, Deer Park, Wis., Steve Mork, Clear Lake, Wis., Tammi (Brian) Marshall, Westfield, Wis., Allen (Cindy) Mork, Woodbury, Minn., Ed Mork, New Richmond, Troy Meinke, Wautoma, Wis., and Tara (Bill) Runnels, Westfield; 15 grandchildren, Amy (Dave), Garret, Darren, Dylan, Jessica (Jeremy), Ashley, Brittany, Brett, Caitlyn, Jackson, Jake, Tory Mae, Culin, Cortney and Alex; two great-grandchildren, Abraham, Hayden, and one on the way; mother-in-law, Elda Briese, Westfield; sister, Gloria (Kermit) Thompson; Fran Gowan Mork, first of two ex-wives; special extended family and friends.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Darwin Briese; grandson, Cody Wayne Meinke.
A funeral service for Wayne was held at 4 p.m. Friday, August 6, at The People's Church, Montello, with Rev. J. Mark Hensley officiating. Inurnment will be in Westfield East Cemetery. A visitation was held on Friday from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Budda Box Fight Against Cancer of Marquette County.
