George Otto Neitge

George Otto Neitge, 74, of Amery died September 14, 1982 at the Golden Age Manor in Amery.

He was born August 1, 1908 in Deer Park to Edward and Clara Neitge. He was baptized and confirmed at S. Paul's Lutheran Church in Deer Park. He served in the US Army during World War II for four and a half years.

On March 24, 1949 he married Mary McInnis in Iowa. They made their home in Apple River Township and he worked for Orvin Christenson for several years and then for Stockers until retiring in 1975. In 1980 they moved to Water's Edge Apartments in Amery. Because of failing health he was living at the Golden Age Manor at the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Adelaide; and two brothers, Clarence and Malcolm.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; brother, Edward of Deer Park; sisters, Mrs. Florence (Gerald) Bovee of St. Paul, Mrs. Lucille (Clarence) Burger of St. Paul and Gladys Neitge of Rochester, Minn.

Funeral services were September 17 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Baardseth officiating. Soloist was Floyd Matson accompanied by Florence Gehrman.

Pallbearers were Pete Hayes, Orvin Christenson, Art Erickson, Hank Leisz, Art Nelson, and Raymond Anderson. Interment was in the Amery Cemetery with the Williamson Funeral Home of Amery in charge of arrangements.
