CATHERINE "KATIE" OLSON
September 7, 1909 - March 1, 1977

Catherine "Katie" Olson was born at Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin on September 7, 1909, the daughter of John and Emma Schumacher. She was baptized and confirmed at Soldiers Grove. On March 2, 1929, she was united in marriage to Victor Olson. To this union, ten children were born. Vic and Katie lived at Milwaukee, WI before moving to Deer Park, Wisconsin where they have lived since. Katie was very active in the United Methodist Church of which she was a member. She died of injuries suffered in an auto accident at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee, WI at the age of 67 years, five months and 22 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son John, two brothers Dave and Dick, one sister Agnes and three grand-children.

Left to mourn her passing are her husband Victor of Deer Park, Wi; one son Raymond Olson of Deer Park, WI; eight daughters, Mrs. Leland (Alberta) Johnson of Amery, WI; Mrs. Russell (Victoria) Bottolfson of Star Prairie, WI; Mrs. Leonard (Virginia) Olson of Stillwater, MN; Mrs. Raymond (Maxine) Manti of Star Prairie, WI; Mrs. Donald (Arlene) Rosenow of Prescott, WI; Mrs. Rueben (Phoebe) Payson of Apple Valley, CA; Mrs. Wayne (Louise) Knutson of Osceola, WI; Mrs. Alfred (Alice) Larson of Star Prairie, WI; one brother Dowain Schumacher of New Richmond, WI; three sisters Mrs. Raymond (Hattie) Hollandcamp of Milwaukee, WI; Mrs. William (Lillian) Garrison of Milwaukee, WI and Mrs. Gladys Fletcher of Tampa, FL. She also leaves 36 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, besides many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held for Catherine Olson on Saturday, March 5, 1977 at 2:00 p.m. from the United Methodist Church in Deer Park, Wisconsin with the Rev. Jim Rowlette officiating. Marlys Knopp sang the solos accompanied by Bernice Jacobsen. Pallbearers were all grandsons: Kenneth Johnson, Dale Olson, David Rosenow, Larry Rosenow, Darwin Knutson and Delroy Rutledge. Spring interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Deer Park, Wisconsin with Stenberg-Williamson Funeral Home of Amery, Wisconsin in charge of arrangements.
