Vera H. Richard, 92, was born on May 21, 1911, in St. Louis county, Missouri, the daughter of Emil and Alvina (Alt) Poertner. She grew up in St. Louis and was married to Raymond Rickard and one daughter was born.
They made their home in St. Louis and she was a long time employee of the United States Postal Service, St. Louis. She retired as a postal worker in 1991 and moved to Deer Park to be near her daughter. In February she moved to Golden Age Manor where she died on Thursday, Oct. 2.
Her husband, Raymond, and her parents preceded her in death.
No services will be held. Williamson Funeral Home, Amery, assisted the family.
