Raymond Perry Rogers

Rev. Walter Blackwood officiated at two o'clock Wednesday, July 27 in the Mission Covenant church, Star Prairie, when funeral services were held for Raymond Perry Rogers. Interment was in Calvary cemetery, Deer Park. Visitation was at the Beebe Chapel, & L. H. and John W. Beebe were in charge of arrangements.

Raymond, 16-year-old son of Phillip E. and Clara Perry Rogers, lost his life in a two-car collision Sunday night, July 24.

He was born September 25, 1938 in the township of New Haven, Dunn county. The family had been residents of the Deer Park community for several years.

The youth is survived by his parents; 5 brothers, Phillip, who is serving with the U. S. Air Force; Neil, Clear Lake; Everett, Lester and Bernard, at home in Deer Park; and two sisters, Mrs. Otis Helgeson, Connorsville; and Marguerite, at home.

(Head-on crash where the other driver, Louis James Beauvais, Jr. 24, was passing cars on Highway 64 and was over the centerline. Raymond Rogers was driving in his lane and both were killed.)

RITES FOR CRASH VICTIM HELD IN STAR PRAIRIE

Raymond Perry Rogers was born September 25, 1938 in New Haven township, Dunn county. Hew was the son of Phillip E. and Clara Perry Rogers. Raymond lived with his parents near Connorsville, in Dunn county, until he was eight years old, when he moved with the family to the farm near Deer Park.

He was confirmed June 3, 1952 in the Mission Covenant church, Star Prairie. Raymond had attended the New Richmond hi-school for the past three years.

He died July 24, 1955 in a car accident, at the age of 16 years and 10 months.

Raymond was of sunny disposition, always ready to help, and a friend to all.

He is survived by his parents, two sisters, Mrs. Otis (Charlotte) Helgeson, of Connorsville, and Marguerite, at home; 5 brothers, Phillip jr., in the U. S. Air Force, Neil of Clear Lake, Wis.; Everett, Lester and Mack at home; a nephew, Leon Helgeson, in the U. S. Armed Forces in Hawaii; two nieces, Ardis Helgeson, St. Paul, and Sandra, Connorsville.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 27 in the Star Prairie Mission Covenant church. Interment was in the Deer Park cemetery. Pallbearers were James Tittel, John Nelson, Russell Christianson, Irvin Clemmens, Clarence Smith, Royal Olson, Harold Johnson and Merlin Berger.

Those from away attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Raleigh Perry, Robert and Betty, Osseo, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Laberee and Mrs. Dick Laberee, Boyceville; Mrs. Bob Schrader, Menomonie, and a host of friends from Connorsville.
