Robert G. Sawyer, 93, died Monday, March 8, 1982 at the Baldwin Municipal Nursing Home where he had been a resident since 1972.
He was born in Gotham, Wis., June 29, 1888, the son of Charles and Mattie Sawyer. On December 25,1914, Robert married Bertha Groshong at Richland Center, Wis.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife Bertha in 1959; two sons, Robert in 1935 and Wayne, who was killed in World War II in June of 1944.
Survivors include three children, Mrs. Phil (Eileen) Bauer, Woodville; Mrs. Maynard (Norma) Hanson of Ocheyedah, Iowa; and Frank Sawyer of Somerset; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were Thursday, March 11, 1982 at the Dull Funeral Home, Pastor Selmer Knutson officiating, with interment in Calvary Cemetery at Deer Park.
Pallbearers were Donald, Richard and Gordon Bauer, Gary Sawyer and Loren Hanson.
Arrangements were by Dull Funeral Home of Baldwin.
