AUGUSTA L. SEMPF
September 9, 1908 - December 5, 2006

Augusta L. Sempf, 98, Clear Lake, died Tuesday, December 5, at the Golden Age Manor Nursing Home, Amery.

Funeral services were at Grace Lutheran church, Clear Lake, on Saturday, December 9, at 11 a.m.

Pastor Ellery Groth officiated and Judy Weber provided music.

Casketbearers were Bob Eggert, Robert Fitzer, Larry Eggert, John Hoefferle, Dennis Eggert and Justin Hoefferle.

Interment was in the Clear Lake cemetery with Scheuermann-Hammer Funeral Home assisting the family.

Augusta Louise Sempf was born on September 9, 1908, in Deer Park, the daughter of Charles and Teetje (DeBoer) Eggert. She grew up in the Deer Park area, was baptized and confirmed at the Immanuel Lutheran church in Forest. She attended High Landing and Clear Lake schools.

She was married to Arthur G. Sempf on November 15, 1928, in Glenwood City and they raised a daughter, Lorna.

She had lived in the Clear Lake area for most of her life, except for a short time when they lived and worked in Ladysmith and Bruce. They returned to Clear Lake in 1949.

In addition to being a homemaker, she worked as an interior decorator, and did a lot of wallpapering and painting over the years.

She was active in the Clear Lake community and helped start the Senior Center.

On May 15, 1979, she was married to William Arndt.

She had been a resident of the Golden Age Manor Nursing Home, Amery, since 2001.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Arthur Sempf and William Arndt; her parents; three brothers, Melvin, Lorne and Donald Eggert.

She is survived by her daughter, Lorna (Phillip) Rogers of Clear Lake; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; brother, Elmer (Irma) Eggert of Rib Lake.
