Eleanor Christine (Anderson) Tronrud
August 20, 1925 - October 26, 2001

Eleanor Christine (Anderson) Tronrud, 76, of Clear Lake died Friday, Oct. 26, 2001 at Regions Hospital, St. Paul, Minn.

Eleanor was born Aug. 20, 1925, the daughter of Grant and Alice Sadie (Fouks) Anderson in Polk County. She was baptized and confirmed and a long time member of the West Akers Lutheran Church, Prairie Farm.

Eleanor attended Clear Lake High School, graduating with the class of 1944. She worked at Nordahl's Restaurant before her marriage to Edwin H. Tronrud Dec. 27, 1946. To this marriage five children were born: Alan, Susan, Wayne, Dean and Dale.

They farmed on the family farm until 1983. After Ed's death by cancer in 1987, Eleanor remained living on the farm with their son Wayne. She had a very special friendship with Bob Humpal for over ten years. Eleanor loved travelling the United States with the Senior Citizens. She also enjoyed playing cards, reading and visiting with friends and relatives.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Edwin H. Tronrud; one brother Charles Anderson; one son Alan L. Tronrud; and step-grandchild John H. "Jay" Didlo III.

Survivors included three sons and one daughter: Wayne B. "Wiener" Tronrud of Clear Lake, Dean J. (Mirasol) Tronrud of Clear Lake, Dale E. (Evelyn) Tronrud of Eugene, Ore., Susan E. (John Didlo) Nelson, Clam Falls; two grandchildren, Jamie Nelson of Downing and Kari Ann Nelson of Eau Claire; three step-grandchildren, Tammy Didlo of Sedona, Ariz., Jessie Marz of Drummond, and Barbie Marz of Clear Lake; one step-great-grandchild, Rochelle Beryinski of Sedona, Ariz.

She is also survived by daughter-in-law Jamine Tronrud of Drummond; brother Elroy Anderson of Centuria; three sisters, Esther (James) Thompson of Deer Park, Arlene (Dan) Giguere of New Hope, Minn., and Ardell (Richard) Laney of St. Louis Park, Minn.; brother-in-law Herman Tronrud of Clear Lake; sister-in-law Lorraine Anderson of Minneapolis, Minn.; best friend Bob Humpal of Clayton; "Bubba"; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at Scheuermann-Hammer Funeral Home, Clear Lake. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001 at West Akers Lutheran Church, Prairie Farm. Rev. Ken Kuziej officiated the service. Music was provided by organist Karen Karlstad and vocalist Earl Larson. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Larry Tronrud, Harold Tronrud, Harold Brooks, Jim Huber, James Thompson and John Nelson.

Scheuermann-Hammer Funeral Home, Clear Lake handled arrangements.
