Just a note to say HI to all those at home in Deer Park. This web page gives me a chance to see Home from so far away.

You have a great website for a small town. I have wonderful memories growing up there--1926-1943. There are 13 Torgersons buried at Calvary Cemetery. We just bought 2 sites there--for future use hopefully.

What fun to see pictures and read about Deer Park from my local library! I didn't know there were so many people that claim Deer Park as home town whose names weren't even vaguely familiar. A comment on the Carr house: When I was in elementary school at Edgewood east of DP between 1946 and 1954, we visited the Carr house. At that time you could still climb the stairs and see what a grand house it once was. By the time I was married in the 60's and took my husband there to see it, it was falling down and one couldn't walk in.

Just stopping in from a different part of the globe. I am on a 1 year assignment in Afghanistan supporting our troops. Still think of Deer Park and all the great people often.

Great web site. My father, William Carr was born and grew up in Deer Park/Cylon. I been to the Carr house in the Wildlife Area. Seeking more info about the Carr family, now that dad is gone. Deer Bar, you have GREAT burgers!

Webmaster comments   Only the foundation stands in 2005 but the legendary Carr House had centralized hand coal fired - hot water heating and two full stories plus a large attic and basement for the furnace. It over looked the Willow River - the view now overgrown by brush. It was probably abandoned because of the remote location - maybe. Other large farm houses that still exist in Cylon Township are similar to the Carr house that had fallen into disrepair by the early 1950's.
