was excited abot this site as I was raised in this area and my genealogy has family members still there. Joe cook was a cousin of my dad, Peter Cook. I and my bor grad ex NR. We lived just west of stanton, I will stop at the library one day. Good luck

Back in the 1950's when highway 46 was narrow, dangerous and without shoulders to walk on, Al Humpal made a special trip to Deer Park School to caution students. The visit worked, carelessness on the highway by school kids ended.
After school the place to go was Loock's Red Owl Store for a 5 cent candy bar and Erna would be there with a smile.
