Deer Park Area News and Events

Winter 2007
A Village Park scene on March 4, 2007

On March 4, the winter version of Main Street for snowmobiles was routed through the Deer Park Village Park. On this day, snow from two previous storms at around a foot each were on the ground. But just over a week later winter came to an abrupt end with temperatures soaring into the high 50's and low 60 degree range. Flooding on March 13, 2007 at Calvary Cemetery is captured by Lowell Fouks showing the cemetery road on the western edge under water. Many areas had deep ground frost because of sub-zero temperatures in February with little or snow cover that aggravated flooding.
