Norma E. Arduini, 83, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away after a long illness on Friday, July 25, 2008, at Madison Center in Matawan with her family at her side. She was born Norma Olson on October 22, 1924, in Cylon, Wis. She lived in Union City and Jersey City and then moved to Hazlet in 2003. Norma was a proud Army veteran, having served as a WAC private first class during World War II.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Louella Matthews Olson; her beloved husband, Walter E. Arduini, in 1982; and a grandson, John Kelly. She is survived by her children, Carol Kelly of Lakewood, and Denise McGurk and her husband James of Hazlet; her sister, Marilyn Larson of Wisconsin; a brother, Alvin Olson and his wife Lavina of Minnesota; her grandchildren, Catherine Kelly, James Kelly and Brian McGurk; her great-grandchildren, John Kelly, Crystal Comacho and James Kelly; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to visit from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday with a religious service at 8 p.m. at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3269 Route 35, Hazlet. In respect of Norma's wishes, she will be cremated privately and then laid to rest back home in Deer Park, Wis.
