Carol E. Barsch, age 77 of Star Prairie, Wisconsin died on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN after a 3 year battle with cancer.
Carol was born the daughter of Fred and Elsa (Bethke) DuBois on February 13, 1934 in the town of Stanton, St. Croix County, Wisconsin. She was a graduate of New Richmond High School. Carol worked a short time at Doughboy Industries and the Department of the Navy in Washington, D.C. She spent her career as processing disability claims for a number of different insurance companies.
On June 28, 1985 Carol was married to Joseph V. Barsh II in their back yard in Star Prairie. She was baptized, confirmed and a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Deer Park, WI. She enjoyed gardening, yard work, knitting and spending time with family. Carol was a very precise, thrifty woman who took an interest in the lives of those she cared about.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Elsa DuBois, husband, Joseph Barsch II; and siblings, Lois Warner, Helen Henke and Donald DuBois.
She is survived by her sister, Lavone Hartman and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Deer Park. Visitation will also be Wednesday from 12-1 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Deer Park.
