Dr. Joseph V. Barsch of Star Prairie, died on Thursday February 5 at his home.
He was born in Minneapolis, Minn. on June 26, 1930 to Joseph and Cecile (Hodgkins) Barsch. Joe married Carol DuBois on June 28, 1985 in Star Prairie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Joe and Cecile Barsch and infant grandson Max Hart.
Joe is survived by his wife Carol; son Joseph (Deb) Barsch III of Aurora, Colo.; daughter Betsy Joy (Ken) Hart of Center City, Minn.; granddaughter Elie Hart; and sister Cecile Johnson.
Joe served in the Korean War as a dentist and was discharged with the rank of Captain. Although dentistry was Joe's greatest interest, he also loved sail boating on Lake Harriet and Lake Calhoun and winters in Hawaii.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 9 at the Beebe Mortuary in New Richmond with Pastor Daniel Voth officiating. Cindy Nelson was organist. Pallbearers were Duane Warner, Walter Warner, Brian Hartman, Donvie DuBois, Warren Henke, Dennis Henke, Paul Warner, and Marvin Henke. Military honors were provided by the Spooner detachment of the Wisconsin Funeral Honors Program. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Deer Park.
