Freda Bethke

Services for ninety-one-year-old Freda Bethke of Deer Park were Saturday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in New Richmond.

A lifelong homemaker, Bethke died October 11 (1984?) at the Amery Constant Care facility.

Rev. Orlan Zuberier officiated at the 11 AM service with organist Mrs. Mildred Jorgensen and soloist Mr. Steve Heinecke providing the music.

Bethke was born October 23, 1892 in the town of Herman , Dodge County, to John and Anna (Uber) Weiss. She was baptized in the Herman Lutheran Church and was confirmed at St. Paul's Evangelical Church in Deer Park.

On December 10, 1912, Rev. W.J.Kitzrow joined her and Albert Bethke in marriage. The couple owned and operated an area farm for numerous years.

She was preceded in death by her husband on October 7, 1958. One sister, Adelia Otterstien, and one brother, Henry Weiss, also preceded her.

Survivors are three sons, Christian of New Richmond, Arthur of Anchorage, Alaska, and Fred of St. Paul; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Irene) Krueger of Deer Park and Mrs. Theodore (Hilda) Readel of St. Paul; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Eight of Bethke's grandsons served as pallbearers. They were Gary, Steve, and John Bethke, Eugene Readel, Charles Krueger, Gary Schelkoph, Harland Zielsdorf and LeeRoy Martin.

Interment was in Deer Park's Calvary Cemetery. Beebe's Mortuary of New Richmond made the arrangements.
