MATILDA E. BORMET

Matilda E. Bormet, 87, formerly of Forest Township, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at St. Croix Valley Good Samaritan Center, St. Croix Falls.

Services were Thursday, July 31, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Forest township, with the Rev. Timothy Coppersmith officiating.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mary Ann Hanson served as organist and Donna Retter, vocalist. Pallbearers were grandsons.

Local arrangements were by Everts Funeral Home, Glenwood City.

Matilda E. Bormet was born Sept. 20, 1915, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Theodore and Helena (Mangelson) Jahneke. After her mother's death they moved to Joliet, Ill.

Her first marriage resulted in two sons, Thomas and Dennis.

On July 11, 1948, she married Herman Bormet in Joliet. They farmed in Moneka, Ill., until moving to a farm near Emerald, where she lived until moving into a nursing home in 1995.

The second marriage resulted in a son, Otto, and two daughters, Helena and Dorothy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman; brothers, Leonard and Floyd; three sisters, Laura Verpooten, Katherine Kent and Lavona Gotschika.

She is survived by three sons and two daughters -- Tom (Carol) Keto of Bloomington, Minn., Dennis (Pam) Keto of St. Croix Falls, Otto (Cheryl) Bormet of St. Louis Park, Minn., Helena Burke and Dorothy Bormet of St. Croix Falls; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and brother, John Jahneke of Joliet, Ill.
