VIOLET I. EGGERT
December 4, 1912 - January 13, 2007

Violet I. Eggert, 94, Clear Lake, died Saturday January 13, 2007 at the Golden Age Manor Nursing Home, Amery.

Services were at Grace Lutheran church, Clear Lake, on Tuesday, January 16, at 11 a.m.

Pastor Ellory Groth officiated and Jeanne Steffen provided the music.

Casketbearers were Darren Booth, Kurt Eggert, Dean Wood, Kent Eggert, Dale Wood, Keith Eggert, Allen Wood, Chad Eggert, Mark Wood, Dustin Booth and Brian Rothe.

Interment was in Clear Lake Cemetery with Scheuermann-Hammer Funeral Home, Clear Lake, assisting the family.

Violet Ida Eggert was born on December 4, 1912, in Forest Township, the daughter of Henry A. and Lena (Winzer) Gluege. She grew up in the Forest area and attended Green Creek school.

She was married to Lorne C. Eggert on February 14, 1933, in Balsam Lake. They settled on a rented farm on Cedar Lake in Alden Township. Three years later they returned to their home area, purchasing the 90-acre farm they kept until retirement.

They raised six children, Darleen, Sylvia, Bob, Larry, Dennis and Karen. In addition to operating the farm and raising their children, she worked outside the home. Over the years she worked at the Magnor Store, Anderson's Fairway Store and the Clear Lake Cafe.

They moved to the village of Clear Lake in 1964.

She was an active member of Grace Lutheran church, Clear Lake.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lorne Eggert; parents, Henry and Lena Gluege; brothers, Charles and Francis Gluege; sisters, Bernice Gluege and Florence Jones; great-grandson, Lance Rosen.

She is survived by sons and daughters, Darleen Wood of Clear Lake, Sylvia (Bob) Scheerer of S. St. Paul, Bob Eggert of Deer Park, Larry (Sandra) Eggert of Amery, Dennis (Kathy) Eggert of Deer Park and Karen (Charles Jameson) Booth of Clear Lake; 20 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren; brother, Henry Gluege of Amery.
