Eleanor Marie Fouks
January 1, 1914 - January 6, 2002

Eleanor Marie Fouks of Deer Park died suddenly Sunday, January 6, 2002 of cardiac arrest while attending Mass at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Stanton, Wis. She was born January 1, 1914 in New Richmond, the daughter of the late August and Josephine Hecht.

Eleanor and her late husband, Wayne, owned and operated Deer's Bar in Deer Park for over 35 years until Wayne's death in January 1975. Eleanor loved people and the interaction among family and friends. She worked at Deer's Bar until the time of her death. She was a member of St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Stanton.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents and husband Wayne, a brother Kenneth Hecht, and a sister Pearl Walsh. She is survived by her brother Robert Hecht of Sunland, Cal.; niece Nola Kaye Danna of St. Paul; nephews Donald (Cheryl) Walsh, Jr. of LaCrosse, Michael (Julie) Walsh of New Richmond, Kenneth Hecht, Jr. of Bayport, Minn.; nieces, Kathy (Dennis) Eggert of Deer Park, Leann (Steve) Martinson of Amery, nephew James (Dawn) Peterson of Hudson; and several grand-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2002 at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Stanton with Father Joseph Trinka officiating. Visitation was at Beebe Mortuary in New Richmond from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and an hour before services at the church.

Organist was Eleanor Cody and soloist was Lois Burri. Casketbearers were Jesse A. Waidelich, Adam Waidelich, Ed Burri, Jack Celloti, Tom Hemauer, and Duane Beebe. Honorary casketbearers were Jesse J. Waidelich, Evelyn Waidelich, Vera Hougdahl, Lois Burri, Harvey Pederson, and Jim Hemauer. Interment was in the church cemetery. Arrangements by Beebe Mortuary.

Though Eleanor will be sadly missed, memories of her will be etched in our hearts forever.
