Herbert H. Fouks
March 25, 1929 - March 22, 2003

Herbert H. Fouks, 73, of Deer Park died Saturday, Marcy 22 at Amery Regional Medical Center. He was born March 25, 1929 in Forest Township, the son of Stanley and Agnes Sabina (Knoll) Fouks. He attended Woodland School in Forest and graduated from Clear Lake High School.

On June 21, 1950 Herbert was united in marriage with Sharon C. Stoner at the Methodist Church in Connersville. Together they raised four children, Sally, Trudie, Kiym and Derrick.

Herbert was a dairy farmer in rural Deer Park for many years before retiring in 1990 due to health reasons. He and Sharon moved to Amery after his retirement.

Herbert was a very active member of St. Paul's Lutheran church in Deer Park. Over the years he served on the church board and was a past treasurer. Herbert was also a member of the Deer Park Lion's Club, and he donated to Boys' Town.

He especially enjoyed spending his time outdoors, either hunting or fishing. Herbert loved being in the woods planting or cutting trees and riding around on his four-wheeler. He also loved to play euchre at Deer's Bar with his friends.

All who knew him knew how he loved the red (not green) tractors. While at home or in the woods, Herbert also enjoyed feeding and watching birds. One of his biggest pleasures was spending time with his family and grandchildren. He also loved his favorite four-legged friend, Buzz.

Herbert is preceded in death by parents, Stanley and Agnes Fouks; infant son; and infant granddaughter, Shannon.

He is survived by wife, Sharon Fouks, Amery; children, Sally (Gene) Leo, Little Canada, Minn., Trudie (Lionel) Chernak, Boyceville, Kiym Dombrock, New Richmond, Derrick (Ilona) Fouks, Deer Park; grandchildren, Brandon, Cameron, Jessica and Nathan Fouks, Aaron, Matthew and John Leo, Amy and Danny Chernak, Ryan and Royce Dombrock; brothers and sisters, Florence Jurisch, Amery, Francis (Yvonne) Fouks, and Stanley (Charlotte) Fouks of Deer Park, and Mildred Broberg, Glenwood City.

Funeral services for Herbert Fouks were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 25 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Deer Park with Rev. Tim Coppersmith officiating. Organist was Cindy Nelson and vocalist was David Anderson.

Casketbearers were his grandchildren. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Deer Park.

Scheuermann-Hammer Funeral Home of Clear Lake assisted the family with arrangements.

Long-time Deer Park area resident, Herbert H. Fouks, 73, died Saturday, March 22, at the Amery Regional Medical Center.

Services were held Tuesday, March 25, at St. Paul's Lutheran church, Deer Park.

The Rev. Tim Coppersmith officiated with Cindy Nelson as organist and David Anderson as soloist.

Casketbearers were Brandon, Cameron, Jessica and Nathan Fouks, Aaron, Matthew and John Leo, Amy and Danny Chernak and Ryan and Royce Dombrock.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Deer Park, with Scheuermann-Hammer Funeral Home, Clear Lake, assisting the family.
