Marvin Frey

Marvin F. Frey age 80 of New Richmond died on Monday, May 28, 2007 at his home.

He was born the son of Bert and Mabel (Wolf) Frey on October 8, 1926 in Genoa, Wis. Marvin served his country in the United States Army during the German Airlift and the occupation of Japan in World War II and also served in the United States Air Force from 1948-1952.

On March 31, 1950, he married Lorraine Warner at the Fort Snelling Chapel in Minneapolis/ St. Paul. Marvin worked for Andersen Windows for 35 years. He enjoyed the outdoors by hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and snowmobiling. Marvin spent his time with his friends and playing cards, but most of his time was spent enjoying his family, especially his grandkids, great-grandkids and dog Ginger.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Dale Frey.

Marvin will be missed by his wife of 57 years, Lorraine; children, Greg (Christa Perrin) Frey of Somerset, Sandy Hohler of Stillwater, Pam Frey of Somerset, Debbie (Leon Jr.) Chovan of New Richmond; grandchildren, Layla Frey, Eric Frey, James Johnson, Steve (Lisa) Hohler, Amy (Brad) Briggs, Erin Cutler, Ryan Cutler, Angela Schultz, David Schultz, Sam Chovan; great-grandchildren, Jackie and Rachel Briggs, Alli, Lindsey and Madisyn Hohler, Damian Cutler; sister, Judy (Jim) Probst; brother, Bert (Ruby) Frey, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 31, at 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, Somerset. A visitation was one hour before the service. The interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Deer Park with Marvin's grandchildren as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.

The New Richmond American Legion Post 80 performed military honors.

Arrangements were with Beebe Mortuary.
