AUGUST GLUEGE
December 12, 1880 - June 10, 1956

August Gluege, the son of August and Wilhelmina Gluege, was born on December 12, 1880, in Brodden, Germany. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith on December 26th of the same year.

He came to this country with his parents at the age of seven. The family settled in Blue Earth County, Minnesota. Here Mr. Gluege was confirmed in the Lutheran faith. In 1902 he came to Deer Park, Wisconsin, and later settled in the Town of Forest.

He was united in marriage with Louise Gluege on August 12, 1923. Mr. Gluege passed away on Sunday, June 10, 1956, at his home after a lingering illness, having attained the age of 75 years, 5 months, 29 days. He leaves to mourn his loss: his wife, Louise, at home; one daughter, Ida Zeimer of Somerset, Wis.; 2 step-sons, Rueben, at home; and Lester, of Forest, Wis.; 2 step-daughters, Margaret Duval, and Adelaide Duval, both of Glenwood City, Wis.; A brother, Henry, of Cylon, Wis., also survives, as do 2 sisters, Ida Carlson, of St. Paul, Minn., and Emma Schultz, of Oshkosh, Wis.

Funeral services were conducted for Mr. Gluege from the Stenberg Funeral Home, Clear Lake, on Wednesday afternoon, June 13, the Rev. J.R. Petrie officiating. Interment was made in the Clear Lake cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ed Fauks, Lorne Eggert, Clarence Logan, Alvin Frohreich, William Johnson and Carl Zurcher.

Out of town folks attending the funeral included; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Carlson, Mr. and Mrs. Don Carlson and Mrs. Willie Freidlund, all of St. Paul; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Ostrum of Minneapolis and Mr. and Mrs. John Duval of Wilson, Wis.
