Marvin Ray Green, 67, of Red Wing, Minn. died Friday, November 21 at Fairview Seminary Home.
He was born December 22, 1935 in Union Township, Iowa, to John and Sophie (Christianson) Green. His family moved to Wisconsin, where he graduated from New Richmond High School in 1953. He married Carole Hanson in Deer Park, and they moved to Red Wing in 1961.
He worked for the Minneapolis Star Tribune as a sales supervisor for 30 years and he also worked for the Lee Lines Bus Company as a driver for over 30 years. As a driver, he enjoyed traveling and drove many times for the Metropolitan Boy's Choir. A member of Svea Lutheran Church, he enjoyed motorcycling, being with his grandchildren, collecting tractors, singing and playing instruments and snowmobiling.
He is survived by his wife, Carole of Red Wing, Minn.; one daughter, Samantha (Steve) Swank of Menomonie; two sons, Kirk Green of Hudson and Korey (Susan) Green of Hager City; four grandchildren, Dannielle (Eric) Sloan of Red Wing, Minn., Sonia and Kody Green of Hudson and Kooper Green of Hager City; one sister, Phyllis Tappon of Rice Lake, and two brothers, Howard Green of Brandon, S.D. and Merlin (Gloria) Green of New Richmond.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ethel Peterson.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 25 at Svea Lutheran Church with Reverend Ruth Ann Holm officiating. Burial was in Deer Park Calvary Cemetery. A celebration of Marvin's life was from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
Memorials are preferred to Fairview Red Wing Hospice, Metropolitan Boy's Choir or Svea Lutheran Church.
