Russell V. Johnson, 89, formerly of Deer Park, died on Friday, Sept. 7, 2001 at the Maple Manor Healthcare Center in New Richmond.
He was born in Alden Township on July 7, 1912 to Herman and Emma (Tollefson) Johnson. He married Pearl M. Carlson on Dec. 26, 1937 in Stillwater, Minn.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Irene Kloetzke.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl; two daughters, Vivian (Ron) Kemling, Marlene (Bill) Robl, all of New Richmond; five grandchildren; one brother, Percy Johnson of St. Paul, Minn.; and two sisters, Alice Schmidt and Nellie Theis both of New Richmond.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001 at the Beebe Mortuary in New Richmond with Reverend Tim Coppersmith officiating. Organist was Cindy Nelson and casketbearers were Troy, Todd, Travis and William Robl, Gary Kemling and Joe Gillis. Interment was in the Calvary Cemetery in Deer Park. Memorials are preferred.
