Floyd M. Johnston of New Richmond passed away at Holy Family Hospital on January 24, 2000. He was 83 years old.
Floyd was born in Stanton Township on May 18, 1916 to James and Mabel (Hilyar) Johnston. He was married to Ada Tepfer from 1936 until her death in 1983. In 1987, Floyd married Ione Lund, who preceded him in death in 1993.
Floyd was preceded in death by wives, Ada and Ione; his parents; and two brothers, Howard and William.
He is survived by his son, Sherwood Johnston of Stillwater, Minn.; daughter, Darlene (LeRoy) Lindeman of Dodgeville; two stepsons, Ronn (Carole) Lund of Anchorage, Ala., and Craig Lund of Minneapolis, Minn.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on January 27 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Deer Park, with Rev. Robert C. Weidmayer officiating. Organist was Cindy Nelson. Active casketbearers were Brian Johnston, Scott Johnston, Tony Lueck, Wayne Ristow, Richard Krampert and A. LeRoy Behrends. Honorary casketbearers were Cheryl Johnston, Bonnie Johnston, Beckie Lueck, Cindy Johnston, Kevin Jackson, Luann Ruhland and Hal Ruhland. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Beebe Mortuary of New Richmond.
