David Warren Jorgenson

David Warren Jorgenson was born in Amery, Wisconsin, on July 7, 1951. He was the son of Warren and Mayta (Wittstock) Jorgenson. He was baptized and confirmed at East Immanuel Lutheran Church and graduated from Amery High School in 1969. He then attended UW-River Falls where he received his degree in Animal Science in 1973. While at River Falls he became a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. On July 20, 1974 at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in River Falls, David was united in marriage to Konny Kullmann and to this union two children were born. Following his graduation in 1973, Dave came home to Amery to help his folks on the farm, which he did for 11 years. He then went to work for Foremost Farms, USA as their Field Representative and has worked for them for the past 16 years, being honest and devoted to the farmers he served.

Dave was a man of many talents and virtues. He loved people and especially kids. He coached little league baseball and flag football. He had a great sense of humor and loved life and living. He loved his softball as well as fishing and playing golf. For the past 8 years he partook of an annual fishing trip to Canada with Andy along with their good friends Alan Brodie Schock. He was an avid Amery Warrior sports fan as well as active in the Amery Band Boosters, serving as president and chaperoning three trips and acting as the chief videographer. He was a lifelong member of East Immanuel and was serving as the president of the congregation at the time of his death. Dave was a wonderful husband to Konny and a loving and devoted father to his children. Dave died unexpectedly in an auto accident on Wednesday, August 1, 2001 as he and Andy were on their way to play softball in New Richmond. He had recently celebrated his 50th birthday.

An infant brother Steven preceded him in death. Left to mourn are his wife Konny of Amery, his daughter Emily of Minneapolis, his parents Warren and Mayta Jorgenson of Deer Park, his foster brother Duane and his foster sisters Barbara and Carol, along with other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Dave Jorgenson were held on Monday, August 6th at 11 a.m. from East Immanuel Lutheran Church with Revs. Loren and Linda Schumacher officiating. Joel and Becky Sunde provided the music for the services. Casketbearers wer Michael Kullmann, Patrick Kullmann, Timothy Kullmann, Kris Kullmann, Casey Kullmann, and Todd Kullmann. Interment was in the East Immanuel Cemetery with the Williamson Funeral Home of Amery, Wisconsin assisting the family with the arrangements.
