EDWARD KLESCEWSKI
October 26, 1920 - March 25, 2008

Edward R. Klescewski, age 87, of New Richmond, Wis., passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

Ed was born on October 26, 1920 in Chicago, Ill. to Casimer and Mary (Kusminski) Klescewski.

He is survived by his wife, June; sons, John (Mary), Edward Jr. (Darla), Robert (Annie), David (Jody); daughter, Barbara (Tom) Hemauer; stepchildren, Wade (Gayle) Farley, Wanda Ottow, Wes Farley, Rene Rawlings; brother, John (Irene); sisters, Irene Menken, Cecelia Buzzini; 17 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.

Ed proudly served as a sergeant in Europe in World War II with the 82nd Airborne and was honored with a Bronze Star, Purple Hearts and numerous other medals. He was wounded twice in the war and lost his right leg. Despite his injuries, he led a full life working, fishing and hunting. Ed was very proud of being a voluntary driver for St. Croix County driving to and from the V.A. Hospital for more than 20 years.

Mass of Christian Burial was 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Immaculate Conception Church, New Richmond. Visitation was 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Cullen Crea Funeral Home, New Richmond, and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment Fort Snellling National Cemetery. Father James Brinkman presided at the funeral mass. Ed's pallbearers were Joe Klescewski, Dan Klescewski, Nick Klescewski, Drew Klescewski, Al Newman and Keith Hexum. Barb Peterson and Anne Anez provided the music. Military honors were provided by the New Richmond American Legion.
