JOSEPH JOHN KOSTKA
October 12, 1934 - October 21, 2005

Joseph John Kostka, 71, was born in St. Paul Minn. on October 12, 1934. He was the first of four children born to Joseph Sr. and Florence (Hankins) Kostka.

Joseph was baptized and confirmed at St. John Vinney Catholic Church in South St. Paul. He attended school and lived in the South St. Paul area until moving to Deer Park, Wis. in the early 1970's.

On June 16, 1979 he was united in marriage to Charlotte Carlson. They lived in Deer Park for five years until moving to South St. Paul to be closer to work. They stayed in South St. Paul until moving to Amery six years ago to live at the Town & Country Mobile Home Community which they had purchased the year prior. Joseph was a member of the Deer Park Lions. He enjoyed flying his plane and loved the outdoors especially fishing and enjoyed spending winters in Florida.

On Friday morning, October 21, 2005 Joseph passed away at the Unity Hospital in Fridley, Minn. at the age of 71.

He is preceded in death by father Joseph John Kostka, Sr. Survived by his mother Florence Kostka, wife Charlotte Kostka, sons James (Kindra) Kostka, Michael Kostka, Neil Kostka, daughter Mary Jo (Stan) Danko, step children Michael (Tom) Carlson, Patti (Joe) Ploehn, 6 grandchildren, 2 brothers Richard and John (Deb) Kostka,, sister Sandy (Mike) Travers, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at the Williamson Funeral Home in Amery with Rev. Mark Nordell officiating. Interment was at Calvary Cemetery in Deer Park, Wis.

Services for Joseph Kostka, 71, were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, at the Williamson Funeral Home, Amery, with the Rev. Mark Nordell officiating. Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Deer Park.
