HOWARD A. "DOC" KRUEGER
June 22, 1912 - July 2, 2004


Howard KruegerHoward A. "Doc" Krueger, life long resident of Star Prairie, died on Friday, July 2, at Our House Assisted Living in New Richmond where he had resided with his wife Margaret for the past several years.

Howard was born on the family farm in Stanton Township on June 22, 1912 to Otto and Lydia (Albert) Krueger. Howard married Margaret Amelia Gust on November 1, 1936 in Deer Park.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his oldest daughter Mary, and all of his six siblings.

Howard is survived by his wife, Margaret; one daughter, Ruth (Jim) Willard of Menomonie; five grandchildren, David Jensen of New Richmond, Steven Jensen of Mineral Point, Diane Jensen of Menomonie, Ranae (John) Walter of Menomonie, Rhonda (Bob) Iverson of River Falls; nine great-grandchildren- Lea, Luke, Libby and Logan, children of David; Noah and Abby Jensen, children of Steven; Nathan Pierce, son of Diane; Jacob and Sam Walter, children of Ranae and John; and many very special nieces, nephews and extended family.

Howard was very active in the community, his church, and politics. He helped found the Lion's Club of Star Prairie and was an active leader for many years, he was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church which joined with the United Methodist Church. One of the things he was proudest of was being instrumental in raising funds for building the original Holy Family Hospital.

Funeral Services were held Thursday, July 8 at the United Methodist Church in New Richmond with Reverend Alan George officiating. Organist was Jerri Rang and vocalist was David Swanson. Active pallbearers were David Jensen, Steven Jensen, Bob Iverson, Tom Wenstad, Luke Jensen and Mike Barney. Honorary pallbearers were Vern Nelson, Logan Howard Jensen, Ralph Knutson, Richard Kruschke, James Cody, Joe Langer, and Elmer Dittman. Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery in Star Prairie.
