Adlore N. Lindberg
November 10, 1916 - December 27, 2001

Adlore N. Lindberg was born in Alden Township of Polk County, Wisconsin on November 10, 1916 the son of Nelbert and Alma Lindberg.

He grew up on the family farm and when it was time to strike out on his own he pursued a career as a meat cutter. He served his apprenticeship in Baldwin, Wisconsin and soon joined his brother in partnership at Lindy's Supermarket in New Richmond. On June 21, 1942 he was united in marriage to Marion June Johnson at East Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Amery. His family sold the supermarket in 1968 at which time he went to work as a meat cutter for Hooley's Plant in Stillwater, Minn., retiring from there in 1978. In 1980 they moved to Balsam Lake, Wisconsin where he was much closer to one of his favorite activities - fishing. He was not one to sit around idle so until 1986 he still worked part time as a meat cutter for Deer's Food Locker in Deer Park, Wisconsin. In 1995 they moved to Pondhurst in Amery. Adlore was very active during his lifetime. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in New Richmond and later at Faith Lutheran Church in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin. Besides fishing he also enjoyed hunting, especially the "shack" up in McKinley. One thing shared with friends and family was his story telling. He had a great gift for telling a story and enjoyed sharing that with anyone who was willing to listen. In 1997 Adlore moved to Golden Age Manor where he has struggled with Parkinson's Disease.

Adlore died on Thursday morning December 27, 2001 at Golden Age Manor in Amery at the age of 85 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant and brothers Charles and Harland. Left to mourn are his wife Marion of Amery; daughter Dianne Hallongren and her husband Gene of Elmhurst, Ill.; brother James Lindberg and his wife Evelyn of Balsam Lake; two grandchildren, Brett and Brady, as well as other relatives and friends.

Services for Adlore Lindberg, 85, were at East Immanuel Lutheran church, rural Amery, on Sunday, Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ron Stanley officiating. Soloist was Jerol Johnson and organist was Jane Johnson.

Casketbearers were Rick Friedrich, Keith Friedrich, Warren Irle, Larry Johnson, Bruce Lindberg and Terry Kolstad.

Interment was at the East Immanuel Cemetery wilth the Williamson Funeral Home of Amery in charge.

Survivors include his wife, Marion of Amery; daughter, Dianne (Glen) Hallongren of Elmhurst, Ill.; brother James (Evelyn) Lindgren, of Balsam Lake; two grandchildren.
