A resident of the Deer Park vicinity the past 37 years, John C. Luhman died June 21 (1956) in the Amery hospital.
A son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Luhman, he was born December 7, 1869 in Lewiston, Minn. He was married June 6, 1894 to Lena Laabs, who survives him, as do two daughters, Esther (Mrs. Benjamin Zimmerman), Northfield, Minn., and Edna (Mrs. Raymond Isakson), White Bear Lake, Minn.; and three sons, Ruben Luhman and Hugo M. Luhman, both of Deer Park, and Henry Luhman, Downing. There are 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Mr. Luhman was preceded in death by a son, Walter, who died in infancy.
Rev. O. W. C. Boettcher officiated Monday, June 25 when funeral services for Mr. Luhman were held in St. Paul's Immanuel Lutheran church, Deer Park. Interment was in Calvary cemetery, and pallbearers were Kenneth Luhman, Richard Luhman, Ruben Zimmerman, Raymond Zimmerman, Alvin Luhman and John Luhman. L. H. and John W. Beebe were in charge of arrangements.
