Leroy "Thunder" Luhman
March 4, 1952 -- December 20, 2002

Leroy Curtis "Thunder" Luhman was born March 4, 1952 in Amery. He was the youngest child of Hugo and Niamia (nee Anderson) Luhman. ("Neomi" on the gravestone?)

As a child growing up in Deer Park, Leroy attended and graduated from school in Amery. He was baptized and confirmed from St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Deer Park. Leroy spent his whole life living in the Deer Park area. He enjoyed being active in the outdoors and liked to hunt, snowmobile, and especially loved to fish.

Leroy was the charter member of the Deer Park Lions Club and was a very active and proud member of the organization. He was also a very devoted "Packer Backer".

On December 20th, Leroy died at Fairview University Hospital in Minneapolis, Minn. at the age of 50.

His parents preceded him in death.

Leroy will be deeply missed by his sister Shirley (Hank) Gehrman; brothers Al (Lorraine), John (Mary), and Bob (Lois) Luhman; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Deer Park on Monday, Dec. 23 with Pastor Tim Coppersmith officiating, and Cindy Nelson providing music. Duane Warner, Wally Warner, Lyle Johnson, Larry Mickelson, Don Keilen, and Jerry Croes were pallbearers for the service. Interment took place at Calvary Cemetery in Deer Park.

The Williamson Funeral Home in Amery assisted the family with funeral arrangements.

Services for Leroy "Thunder" Luhman, 50, were held at St. Paul's Lutheran church, Deer Park, on Monday, Dec. 23, with Pastor Tim Coppersmith officiating. Cindy Nelson provided music.

Duane Warner, Wally Warner, Lyle Johnson, Larry Mickelson, Don Keilen and Jerry Croes were pallbearers.

Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Deer Park, with Williamson Funeral Home, Amery, assisting the family.
