Steven Lee Mathieu, 38, of Turtle Lake died Friday, August 8, 2008 at his home. He was born December 5, 1969 in Aurora, IL to Kenneth and Candice (Baker) Mathieu.
Steve enjoyed the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing, and loved spending time with his children.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa and their children, MiKayla and Carter of Turtle Lake; his father, Ken (Sandy) Mathieu of Cameron; his mother, Candi (Jerry) Johnson of West Plains, MO; 2 sisters, Lisa (Jason Murphy) Diesterhaft of Almena and Tara (Phil) Jossart of Rice Lake; paternal grandmother, Betty Hughes of Chetek; maternal grandmother, Dolores Baker of Lakeview, AR; maternal grandparents, Ervin and Rosemary Splatt of Almena; parents-in-law, Gerald and Diane Gulbrandson of Clear Lake; sister-in-law, Angel (Tadd) Fredrick; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Darcey Gulbrandson and his maternal grandfather, Verner Baker.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Skinner Funeral Home, Turtle Lake with Rev. Kenneth Mandley officiating. Burial will be in Deer Park Cemetery, New Richmond, WI. (Calvary Cemetery, Deer Park, WI) Friends may call from 10:00 until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
