Herbert Emanuel Meyer was born October 25, 1912 to Edward and Helena Meyer in Burnstown Township, Brown County, Minnesota. Herb came to Star Prairie where he farmed for many years. He married Margaret Sorenson December 4, 1943.
Herb was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in New Richmond. He enjoyed farming, fishing, cooking, reading novels of the Old West, and watching politics and wrestling on TV.
Herbert was called to his eternal home on Friday, October 8, 2004 at the St. Croix Health Center where he had resided for the past two years.
He is survived by three nephews and a niece, Marlin Enser of Claremont, Minn., Dennis Enser of Owatonna, Minn., Roger Hillebrandt of New Richmond, and Yvonne Enser of Conger, Minn., and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sisters, Thekla and Hertha; nephew Franklin Enser and a niece, Janice Hillebrandt.
Funeral services were Tuesday, October 12 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church with Pastor Ray Wiebold officiating. Organist was Karen Volkert, soloist was Lowell Volkert.
Pallbearers were Bradley Guinn, Marlin Enser, Roger Hillebrandt, Melissa Freeberg, Marie Enser, and Kathy Enser.
Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Deer Park.
Beebe Mortuary assisted the family.
