Luella Olson

Mrs. John E. Olson a lifelong resident of Cylon township, died July 4, 1959 in Holy Family Hospital at the age of 60. She had been in failing health for some time.

A daughter of Frank and Minnie (Hintzman) Mathews, Luella Mathews was born December 30, 1898. She was married October 20, 1920 in Stillwater to John E. Olson.

Surviving Mrs. Olson are her husband; 2 daughters, Norma (Mrs. Walter Arduini) Union City, New Jersey, and Marylin (Mrs. Norman Larson), Emerald; a son, Alvin, New Brighton, Minn.; w brothers, Clarence Mathews of Cylon and Leonard Mathews, Deronda; and a sister, Nellie (Mrs. Burton Beebe), R. 3, New Richmond. There are 8 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Olson at 2 o'clock Tuesday, July 7 in the Cylon Methodist church, the Rev. L. S. Orton officiating. Mrs. Alex Johnson sang "In the Garden" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," accompanied by Mrs. Henry Anderson at the organ. Interment was in Calvary cemetery, Deer Park, and casketbearers were Lee Jones, Milo Goodrich, William Rudd, Maurice Hilyar, Chris Bethke and Abner Hanson.

Visitation was held Monday afternoon and evening and until noon Tuesday at the Beebe Chapel. The body lie in state at the church for an hour preceding the service.
