Ilene E. Rothe

Ilene E. Rothe was born March 9, 1936 in Cylon Township of St. Croix County, Wis., the daughter of Carl and Hazel Thompson. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Deer Park. She was graduated from the Clear Lake High School.

On Dec. 1, 1956 she was united in marriage to Earl R. Rothe, and to this union three children were born. They made their home in Deer Park and she worked as a type setter for J & M Printing for many years and was a very loving homemaker. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Ilene suffered a heart attack and was taken to United Hospital in St. Paul on May 5 where she underwent heart surgery. Due to post-surgical complications, she died on Tuesday, May 15, 2001 at the age of 65 years.

Her parents and two brothers preceded her in death. Left to mourn are her husband Earl Rothe of Deer Park; children, Sandra Rothe of Oceanside, Cal., Susan (Duwane) Snyder of Becker, Minn., and Darrin (Kristen) Rothe of Mesa, Az.; brother Kermit (Gloria) Thompson of Deer Park; sisters Donna (Frank) Warner of Glenwood City and Mary (John) Luhman of Deer Park; grandchildren Johnathan, Joseph, Jeffrey and Baby Rothe, as well as other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 19, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Deer Park with Rev. Tim Coppersmith officiating. Organist was Jeanine Carlson.

Casketbearers were John Snyder, Ryan Nelson, Dan Luhman, Brian Rothe, Darrel Rothe, and Donny Warner. Interment was at the Calvary Cemetery in Deer Park with the Williamson Funeral Home of Amery in charge of arrangements.
