Peter Edward Rugo

Peter Edward Rugo, 83, former Deer Park farmer, died March 16, 1983 at the Maple Manor Healthcare Center in New Richmond.

He was born April 5, 1899 in Glenwood City to Michael and Elizabeth Rugo. He was baptized in the Catholic faith in Glenwood City as an infant. On June 2, 1925 he married Helen L. Pittman in St. Paul. They lived in Clear Lake until 1938 when they moved to Deer Park where they farmed until 1965. He then worked at the Deer Park Feed Mill until it was destroyed by fire.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; four sons, William of River Falls, John of Deer Park, Robert of Rosburg, Wash., and Thomas of North Hudson; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Kay (Roger) Williams of Amery; four sisters, Mary Gordy, Crescence Brisson, Agnes Pickard, and Caroline Lundt, all of St. Paul; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held March 19 from the Deer Park Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Morning officiating. Lou Williamson, soloist, was accompanied by Jane Johnson.

Pallbearers were William, John, Robert and Thomas Rugo, Dale Hanson and David Pickard. Spring interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Deer Park.

The Williamson Funeral Home of Amery was in charge of arrangements.
