Arnold J. Schreiber

Arnold J. Schreiber, 76, of Glenwood City died December 27, 1983 at the American Lutheran Home in Menomonie.

He was born August 31, 1906 in the town of Forest, St. Croix County, to Herman and Augusta (Brandt) Schreiber. On September 19, 1959 he married Violet Colburn Kuehl at the Little Brown Church in Iowa. He farmed in the Forest area until 1952 and was a carpenter. He owned and operated Vi's Bar and Grill at Downing from 1959 to 1973. He then moved to Glenwood City and operated the Country Store and post office at Emerald from 1977 to 1980.

Mr. Schreiber died December 27, 1982 at the American Lutheran Home, Menomonie, having reached the age of 76 years, 3 months, and 26 days.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Olga Quarnstrom.

Survivors include his wife, Violet; two stepsons, John Kuehl of Glenwood City and James Kuehl of Wilson; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Marcie (George) Tuttle of Glenwood City; two brothers, Ernest Schreiber of Glenwood City and Raymond Schreiber of Clear Lake; four sisters, Mrs. Pauline (Reinhart) Gust, Mrs. Hilda (Edd) Schultz, and Mrs. Anna (Erwin) Jahn, all of Glenwood City, and Mrs. Elizabeth Wienke, Emerald; 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 30, 1982 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Ralph Thompson officiating. Spring interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Hersey. The organist was Mrs. John Schmitz and the vocalists were Mrs. Noel Wold and Kenneth Wold. The pallbearers were: Erwin Jahn, Bud McGee, George Schillinger, Hervert Langrehr, Jack Colburn, and Earl Cassellius.

Arrangements were by Everts Funeral Home, Inc., Glenwood City.
