John Charles Severson was born April 16, 1937 to Mable and Emil Severson of rural Deer Park. He passed away at the age of 61 years on February 9, 1999.

John was a life-long resident of the Deer Park area and was considered one of the pillars of the community being very active in community and church functions. Later on he was employed by Northern States Power Company in Amery as a service tech for 26 years. He was in the U.S. Army with active duty in the Berlin Airlift and remained in the National Guard for decades serving in the New Richmond unit.

On November 4, 1958 he was united in marriage to Ruth L. Warner. To this union four sons were born, Arlyn (Denise) Severson, Greg (Kris) Severson, Dan (Missy) Severson and John (Jewel) Severson.

John is survived by his wife Ruth, his sons, Arlyn (Denise), Greg (Kris), Dan (Missy) and John (Jewel), his sister, Mavis (Lawrence) Croes and many grandchildren.
