Robert Spoentgen

Robert Spoentgen, 67, formerly of Madison, died on June 28, 1999 in Clear Lake. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; three sons, Roger, Paul, and Richard; four daughters, Linda, Nancy, Susan, and Sally; and a brother, William. Services will be held on Friday, July 2, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Amery. Visitation will be on July 1, 1999 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williamson Funeral Home, Amery. Address: 222 Harriman Ave North, Amery, Wisconsin 54001

Burial at 1:15 p m. at Calvary Cemetery in Deer Park. (funeral program) died at home. Father John Drummy officiated.

Services for Robert Spoentgen, 67, Clear Lake, were Friday, July 2, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, Amery.

Father John Drummy officiated and Deacon Bud Heiser assisted. Soloist was Mary Anderson.

Casketbearers were Charles McCurdy, Milton Waldon, Roger Benson, Jeffrey Newton and Alan Bishop. John Spoentgen was an honorary casketbearer.

Interment was at the Calvary Cemetery, Deer Park, with the Williamson Funeral Home of Amery in charge of arrangements.

Robert Charles Spoentgen was born in Madison on April 26, 1932, the son of Richard and Mary Spoentgen.

He grew up in Madison and graduated from Wisconsin High and attended the Madison Business College in accounting.

He served in the Navy during the Korean War.

In 1952 he was married to Virginia Shumate and six children were born.

He worked for the Richard E. Ela Company until 1974.

On May 19, 1973, he was married to Patricia Ann Newton and one son was born. They lived in rural Clear Lake and he worked for UBC, Lampert Yards in Amery and for New Richmond Industries.

He was a member of the Clear Lake VFW, worked with the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts as Cubmaster and Scoutmaster.

He was a member of the Clear Lake Golf Club, made custom clubs, and enjoyed playing the Chippewa Valley Seniors Golf Association.

He died at his home in rural Clear Lake on Monday, June 28.

His parents preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia of Clear Lake; sons, Roger of Hawaii, Paul of Alabama and Richard of Clear Lake; daughters, Linda Bolt of Alabama, Susan Davis of Madison, Nancy Wellborn and Sally Sanchez of Coloma. He also leaves his brother, William of Ventura, Calif.; four granchildren and two great grandchildren.
